‘Downton Abbey’ season 6: What has Hugh Bonneville taken from set after filming?

While the question above may look at first glance to be somewhat odd, the reality here is that this is the sort of thing that you see asked more often than not with almost every show that is about to go off the air. There is some sort of innate curiosity with what sort of gift someone associated with a show is able to take home with them.

Given that we are talking in this particular article about “Downton Abbey,” it is fairly easy to determine that there could be a certain sentiment or desire to try to take home as many different things as humanly possible. After all, why wouldn’t you? The reality is, though, that many items will likely be stored in a museum or auctioned off for various causes, so there are only so many things available for the actors.

For Hugh Bonneville in particular, it turns out that he was fine with taking something rather small. Speaking in a new interview with the Mirror, the actor behind the Earl of Grantham Robert made it clear that there was only one object that he was particularly keen on taking:

“I just liberated one letter from the set. I nicked one – just one – from Henry Talbot’s character writing to invite us to something.”

Hey, we imagine that he probably does not need too many mementos given how many times over the rest of his career that fans will remind him of the role, even though he’s had a robust resume both before the series and will likely continue to have one moving forward. That is the thing about this particular gig: It really is a great launching pad to a variety of other fun ventures.
