‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7, episode 8 preview: First look at ‘The Long Goodbye’

NCISMonday, there is a big change-up taking place when it comes to “NCIS: Los Angeles,” but we’re talking more about external factors than anything within the story itself.

If you missed our report from earlier today, the show is moving back the upcoming two-parter focusing in part on Deeks for a week because of sensitive subject matter following the attack on Paris. It will still air, but this is a common move in order to help people cope with tragedy a little easier. The last thing CBS wants to do is air a similar story that could produce some gaping wounds at time when people are trying to heal.

We will give some credit for the promo department for doing such a quick turnaround for what is now “The Long Goodbye” airing Monday. Even though this episode was originally scheduled for December, apparently they got it edited in time and there is even a promo (see below) out for it. We’ve also got a short synopsis that makes it clear that Talia and Kensi are going to be working together, which should certainly be interesting:

“The team searches for Jada (Ella Thomas), the woman Sam led to asylum in the United States four years ago, after she goes missing. Also, Kensi goes undercover with DEA Agent Talia Del Campo (Mercedes Mason).”

This is one of those times when the show probably benefits very much from being for the most part non-linear, since it allows them to air this episode without any major consequences in the timeline. If this show was more serialized, the sudden move may be confusing for viewers.
