‘How to Get Away with Murder’ winter finale spoilers: Answers coming!
The second season of “How to Get Away with Murder,” at least for us, started off on relatively shake footing. We weren’t sure if we were going to find the case with Caleb and Catherine all that interesting, given that on the surface it felt a little bit like every other case that we have ever seen on a murder-mystery show.
However, then came the twists, the flash-forwards, and the added pieces to the puzzle. We actually now find it more interesting than the death of Sam last year. We know that Thursday’s winter finale will tell you how Annalise was shot and who pulled the trigger, but there will be more than that revealed, as well. With that being said, show creator Pete Nowalk tells Entertainment Weekly that there are a few additional pieces to the puzzle that will not be shown until the series returns in 2016:
“Last year, we showed all of the flash-forwards again exactly how they fit in the puzzle in our midseason finale … This year, that’s not necessarily the case. We get to a point in that night where you will have seen some of the flash forwards, but others will be left to figure out for the premiere. You get a ton of answers, and even answers you didn’t expect to get. We end in what we think is the most exciting, satisfying moment. There will be some question marks to figure out later on.”
So long as everything make sense, we’re satisfied. We just don’t want the show to prioritize too much creating the big “shocking” moment that pushes the show into being plot-based more so than focused on the characters.
