‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 2 winter finale: Is all as it seems with Catherine?
“How to Get Away with Murder” loves to get away with finding completely new ways to surprise us week in and week out, and at the moment we have to give them some credit in pulling off what we personally believe to be a rather massive shock: Catherine and the oh-so-secret Philip have a rather extensive history together. Learning this changes everything about the dynamics of the whole case, including that she she may have constantly been thinking throughout the trial not just of herself, but also of him and the things that needed to be done in order for the two of them to be able to protect each other … at least if that’s what she wants.
At the moment, creator Pete Nowalk is being careful to even mention just what it is that Catherine could want in this situation. Also that he is saying with confidence is the following to People Magazine:
“Catherine looks very guilty right now … She has a gun in her room and she knows this pretty spooky guy who clearly has a lot of motive to want those parents dead, so the question is, ‘Did they work together?'”
Another question is if they didn’t work together, why are they communicating? Whatever happens between these two is more than likely going to directly lead to the mansion, which is the location of where Annalise was shot and bleeding out in some of the flashforwards we’ve seen throughout the season. While at times we have admittedly questioned the direction of the story, we’ll give kudos now to Nowalk and the writers: They’ve actually created a really fantastic
