‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Rosie O’Donnell!

The second season of “Empire” may have dropped somewhat in the ratings since the premiere, but there is one thing in particular that it is continuing to do in spades: Giving you as many big-name guest stars as possible.

Want further proof of that? Just take a glance at the image above from the upcoming November 25 episode of the show, which features an appearance from none other than Rosie O’Donnell as a waitress. As for who else is pictured, that is none other than Vivica A. Fox as Cookie’s sister. You are going to be seeing a little bit more of her as this character a little bit sooner rather than later.

To us, the biggest surprise here may just be that “Empire” is even airing an episode the day before Thanksgiving, since that is a day when many people are traveling and have other things going on. Traditionally, this is a night when, by and large, the ratings for most primetime programs are down by a pretty sizable margin versus the week before. We’ll see if that impacts this show, but it has started to become at least a little more vulnerable in the recent weeks. There is only so much time now that this show has to turn things around this fall … at least if it wants to get to the level of having enormous ratings in the 5.0 range once again.
