‘The X Factor’ UK: Lauren Murray temporarily leaves house; One Direction, Jess Glynne to perform

Let’s begin this particular “X Factor” article with the news regarding what is coming up on Sunday night’s results show, specifically in the form of who will be performing: One Direction and Jess Glynne. Neither name should comes as a surprise; the show never wants you to forget that they launched the group into one of the biggest acts in the entire world. Meanwhile, Glynne was featured at Judges’ Houses this year for Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini and the Groups. It made some sense to bring her on here.

As for the contestant scuttlebutt, we bring you the latest on Lauren Murray “leaving” the house where the contestants stay during the show. Much has been made of this over the past few days, with some headlines sensationalizing it by acting as though it means that she has left the show itself. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

As a spokesperson for the show explains per the BBC, “contestants are allowed to go home when they wish, rehearsal schedule permitting.” Basically, what’s happened is that she has probably just gone home temporarily to get away from some of the frenzy. Being in this competition is tough, even if you want to be a pro singer. You have to adjust to headlines, social media, and pressure week in and week out to deliver.

So long as Lauren comes out and delivers on Saturday with a winning performance, does it really matter what she does during the week? We don’t think so. It’d only be an issue if she started to appear as though she was distracted or lost her confidence.
