‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 8 video: An emotional Mariska Hargitay scene

Wednesday night’s “Law & Order: SVU” will contain a wide array of different stories, but the one that will perhaps be more emotional than any other involves Benson potentially losing Noah while at a playground.

Is it possible that the sneak peek below is deceiving? Maybe, and our hope is that mere minutes later she ends up finding the child. Unfortunately, this is “SVU,” and therefore it is a show where you have to assume the worst and the child has been kidnapped. There are plenty of people out there with an ax to grind with Mariska Hargitay’s character, and they are capable of doing horrible things. We also continue to feel for Noah, who has gone through more or less a laundry list of things more terrible than what many many go through in their entire lives.

We’ve also seen many comments on this particular video, and many out there are wondering whether or not the woman Benson is speaking to may have something to do with what is happening. We feel like it’s ultimately a little too early to proclaim this so, but it is something to watch out for amidst other things in this episode. We also know that this will be an installment that tests Sgt. Dodds in a way that he has not been since joining the SVU earlier this season. He may have experience, but this is a very different world for him.
