‘Dancing with the Stars 21’: Tamar Braxton reportedly rushed to hospital; status on show unclear

Is Tamar Braxton done on “Dancing with the Stars” right before we arrive at the finale? That’s not something that we really want to think about, but the reality is that this may be the case.

According to TMZ, the singer was rushed to the hospital with what is being descried as pneumonia, which she has been battling for some time. It is not presently clear what her status in the competition will be moving forward, but this is not necessarily a situation akin to what Kim Zolciak went through earlier this season. If she was well enough to do rehearsals for the show, that footage can be used and scored. Basically, the rule here as established in past seasons is that so long as there is something for the judges to look at and evaluate, then the person can continue if the voting public determines it so.

If the show was to lose Tamar right now, that’d be a rather rough pill for them to swallow. She has been consistently one of the best dancers this season alongside her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and while we’re not sure that they would beat either Nick Carter & Sharna Burgess or Bindi Irwin & Derek Hough in the finale, they are clear favorites to make it there depending on what happens.

Structurally, the exit of Tamar means big things for the show tonight, given that there was meant to be a team-up date regarding her and another pair. The show is really going to have to think on the fly here, especially when it comes to fairness for all of the remaining teams.

For now, the health of Tamar has to be the top priority, so we will give you some other news on her condition as we find out. Update: Tom Bergeron says that she may perform tonight, but it is not confirmed as of yet. Time will tell.

Update 2: Tamar’s rehearsal was scored tonight.
