‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: First details on winter finale

Grey's Anatomy“Things We Lost in the Fire” is more than just the title of a song from Bastille, or a movie featuring Halle Berry from the last decade. It is also the title of the winter finale for “Grey’s Anatomy,” one that could have many important revelations that change how things operate on a regular basis.

The synopsis below gives you at least some insight into what to expect, but the one part of reading this that is difficult and not really understanding what the early part is even referring to:

“As the rumor mill around the hospital continues to spiral out of control, Grey Sloan Memorial is flooded with injured firefighters from a nearby wildfire. Maggie struggles to keep things with Andrew professional at work; meanwhile, Jo questions Alex’s priorities.”

For now, we figure that this “rumor mill” is something we’ll get some other information about on Thursday night’s new episode, which will better set up almost everything that is going on right now. When it comes to Jo and Alex, we know that these two have in particular had some tension ever since earlier this season, where she realized that he and Izzie had a plan with frozen embryos. That makes her question more of his commitment and future with her, and it sets the stage for some sort of conflict to happen down the line.

As for Maggie and Andrew’s relationship, we of course want to root for them! The problem here is mostly that they’re so new that we’ve yet to form too much of an attachment.
