‘The Leftovers’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Kevin’s visions reach a new peak

On Sunday night’s new episode of “The Leftovers,” Patti made Kevin Garvey a rather unfortunate promise: He would be sorry for making it clear to Nora just what he is suffering from.

Based on the information that we have already about the next new episode, she seems to be holding true to those threats. The preview that aired after Sunday’s episode showed him being led to a standoff with her, and given that she is in many ways a ghost / the devil on his shoulder, this means mostly that the potential for him to do terrible things to himself is high. The synopsis below doesn’t give you all the answers, but does make it clear that Jill may be having her biggest episode to date and that Laurie will resurface after a few episodes away from the show:

“Nora gives Kevin and Jill (Margaret Qualley) news they weren’t expecting. Kevin deals with the fall-out of Nora’s news and explores his options re: tackling his Patti (Ann Dowd) problem head-on. Jill goes on a solo adventure that could only happen in Miracle. Laurie (Amy Brenneman) makes a rash decision that affects the Garveys.”

The saddest news of all that we have now is reporting that there are only a small handful of episodes left this season. This means that the show will probably have to go into overdrive to give us all the necessary answers, and we’re not sure that they even can in the amount of time allotted. Fingers crossed for a third season already.
