‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Barbara wants to talk about ‘feelings’

Barbara -It has been a few weeks now since Barbara Kean was a major force to be reckoned with on “Gotham,” but you better believe that this is going to change on Monday night’s new episode entitled “Tonight’s the Night.” In this story, we are going to get a chance to see whether or not Barbara can handle being left to her own devices … and by that, we mean left to go after Jim.

While she does not have an opportunity in the sneak peek below to be physically violent towards Jim Gordon, she does still find a way to unleash a little bit emotional torment on him. How does she manage that? Let’s just say that it is the end result of making a few comments that start to get his head turning a little bit, and it ends with him not paying attention and getting struck by some sort of truck. (Let’s just say that the green-screen work on some of this scene could’ve used a little bit of work.)

More so than the contents of this particular scene, what we may be the most curious about at the moment going into Monday’s episode is this: Is there any hope at all for Barbara to survive this? The show has lost many characters lately, so we know they are not afraid to kill someone off. The issue here with Barbara is that we know she is in a less-than-stellar place emotionally, she wants Jim Gordon by whatever means necessarily, and she is willing to kill Lee Thompkins.

Ultimately, there may not be any other way this particular story can end.
