ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 6 preview: More of Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin in ‘Cool Boys’

Is the “Castle” sneak peek below a little bit of out of character for Rick? The big thing to remember here is that in taking Ryan and Esposito’s car, while also making sure that they don’t arrest Ethan Slaughter (Adam Baldwin), it’s pretty clear that Rick probably has good intentions in mind. Yet, he’s breaking a ton of laws and that’s not normally his go to action if he can avoid it – we’re not watching “Chicago PD” here where what’s legal rarely comes into play.

We know that he has executed many a crazy and illegal scheme before, but this one’s trickier than most since he doesn’t have Beckett around to have his back, and to go along with that he doesn’t exactly have a partner in Slaughter who is thought of as squeaky-clean.

We’ll get a chance to assess this scene better when we see all of “Cool Boys” in action. For now, most of our excitement remains with seeing Baldwin with Nathan Fillion again. That really has to be the source of it right now, given that there is no evidence at the moment that Stana Katic is even going to be in this episode. If she turns up, it will be a surprise.

We’ll be back tomorrow night with a review of this episode, and also a tease at “The Last Seduction” airing next week. The great news for that episode, at least right now, is that we know for sure that Beckett is going to be a part of it. We’ll also get Castle trying to commemorate their anniversary.
