ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 6 video: Watch Adam Baldwin, Nathan Fillion in action
Monday night’s new episode of “Castle” is entitled “Cool Boys,” and based on some of what we’ve seen from the episode so far, it certainly appears as though there are many cool things that take place in the hour.
First and foremost, we have the return of Adam Baldwin as Ethan Slaughter, the rogue detective who put Castle through hell the last time they worked together. There’s obviously a nostalgic angle to this case since Baldwin and Nathan Fillion worked on “Firefly” together, but even independently of that we like seeing Slaughter around on the show. Baldwin plays comedic scenes really well (“Chuck” is another great example of that), and there is something really fun about the sneak peek below.
In this, Slaughter arrives at Castle’s P.I. office, and after Alexis informs him that he is there, he becomes almost instantly terrifies and tries to find a way to get rid of him. Suffice it to say, it doesn’t quite work.
We have an easy time imagining that Castle and Slaughter are going to get into some hijinks in this episode, and there will probably be at least one or two moments coming up where their lives are in jeopardy. Here’s to thinking that Slaughter probably handles it better than Castle does.
We’d love to personally see Ethan as the sort of character who pops in a little more often than he does, almost in the way that “Supernatural” uses people like Sheriff Mills for one or two appearances a season. Unfortunately, that’s a little harder here given that there are so many different stories to address, and Baldwin is rather busy thanks to his work on “The Last Ship.”

While I’ve pretty much stopped watching Castle, for this season (don’t want it to end leaving a bad taste, like Chuck) but I really look forward to seeing these two together again :)
