‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7, episode 5 preview: Caroline, Bonnie talk relationships

For those of you who are looking for a reasonably lighthearted “Vampire Diaries” scene without some of the drama, look no further than the latest sneak peek below! This one gives you a little bit of insight into what is coming Thursday night, and it also makes it clear just how secure Caroline is feeling right now with her relationship.

Specifically, Caroline makes it clear to Bonnie that she has allowed Stefan to go and spend a little bit of time with Valerie on a mission-of-sorts. What is it all about? It’s really as simple as trying to get the two to talk through most of their hurt feelings from so many years ago so that they can both move forward and be happy. In theory, this sounds like a great idea. After all, nobody really wants to be hurt forever! The problem here could come in that these two could grow closer, and in turn make things harder for Stefan and Caroline.

After hearing Caroline’s philosophy on letting her boyfriend handle his past, how is Bonnie feeling? Let’s just say impressed. She is inspired to try to even look for a little romance for herself … at least after she deals with a Heretic problem.

Unfortunately, we know already that Caroline’s happiness is going to be fairly short-lived here, given some of the revelations we’ve seen in the flash-forwards. She and Stefan are no longer talking, he is off having to fight some sort of mysterious evil with Damon, and she is engaged to marry someone else. Hopefully, we will learn who that someone is in the reasonably near future.
