‘Empire’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Cookie, Lucious feud at the drop-off point

Wednesday night’s new episode of “Empire” is just about here on Fox, and that means a variety of different things … including answers as to whether or not Cookie and Lucious Lyon are going to be able to get back Hakeem.

The sneak peek below marks a great opportunity to see just how different Cookie and Lucious handle such a crisis. When it comes to the former, what we get out of this is something much more emotional. She wants to get her son back at all costs, and isn’t really willing to mess around in order to ensure that it happens properly. As for Lucious, meanwhile, he is choosing to take on a very different strategy. He wants to handle this almost as a business transaction, and really wants to ensure that he is not getting defrauded on the way to getting someone he cares about deeply back. This is why he specifically asks as to whether or not he can get “proof of life.”

Do we think that Lucious will eventually get what he wants here? We’re not entirely sure of that right now, but we do think that the back-and-forth here will lead to some interesting results. We want to believe that Hakeem will make it through this all right, but there have been many crazy things that have happened on this show over the years. Therefore, you have to think that something more could happen to him.
