‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Making Oswald Cobblepot beg for it

Monday night’s new episode of “Gotham” is entitled “Mommy’s Little Monster,” and unless things start to change for Oswald Cobblepot in the future, it doesn’t exactly look like he is going to make it out of this episode unscathed in the slightest.

Of course, we don’t think that the character is actually going to die, given that you would be fundamentally changing the very fabric of this show in the event you got rid of him. Instead, you do have to wonder how else you can devastate this character … and there are a pretty wide away of ways you can do so.

The first thing that Theo Galavan seems to have done in the sneak peek below is take away a little bit of the support system. Namely, Tabitha and him have “conditioned” Butch in a way that he no longer seems loyal to the Penguin. Isn’t this trouble? Given that he no longer has a man on the inside, we’d certainly say so.

As for what the second trouble spot could be here, we’d say that it is ultimately as simple as the fact that Oswald’s mother is still in trouble, and we could easily see her going the way of the dodo on this show as a means to further progress this story for a wide array of reasons. What’s the biggest one? It’s a matter of logistics, given that the actress who plays her in Carol Kane is a regular over on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and we’re not entirely sure how often the show is able to bring her around and use her.
