‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 7 preview: ‘Nimue’ and the journey ahead
Tonight, there were many valuable things that took place on “Once Upon a Time.” Rumpelstiltskin finally became a hero, Excalibur is now free from the stone, and the Dark One Emma got quite the warning from Rumple: She hasn’t dealt with a hero quite like him before.
Ultimately, at the end of the episode what we learned was that there is still one person who may be able to stop Emma in her tracks, as Merlin seems to be currently unavailable: Nimue. This ties into the Lady of the Lake legend in many ways, and brings in the Camelot mythology even more than we’ve seen on the show to date.
The promo below further enlightens a little bit as to the precise journey that we are going to see Jennifer Morrison’s character take on the show moving forward. Ultimately, she is going to potentially summon one of the darkest beings known to mankind in the past, and that explain more of why she is the way that she is in the present. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke we imagine many of these characters doing what they can to put a stop to this curse and to the Dark One once and for all. Who knows if they will really be successful?
Ultimately, we are now well past the halfway point of this particular arc; therefore, we do anticipate that there will be some significant movement coming up in the near future. Stay tuned, as we’ll have updates as they come up.
