‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Why is Theo Galavan turning to the police?

On Monday night’s new episode of “Gotham” entitled “Mommy’s Little Monster,” Theo Galavan is going to turn his focus to what may be to some of you out there a surprising direction: Working with the police.

Why do this? As he explains in the sneak peek below, it is a matter of further achieving his goal of getting Oswald Cobblepot behind bars. He wants to ensure that, by whatever means necessarily, this character is brought to justice for some of his crimes. Of course, he probably also does not want the Penguin getting his mother back and then using her in order to ensure that Theo is taken down.

Right now, Galavan realizes that he has most of Gotham’s primary institutions at his side. The police are listening to his every beck and call, while he also has the support of the public, who perceive him to be a hero. Meanwhile, Oswald has almost nothing. This is why Theo is able to get most of the support of the police, even though Jim is starting to get a little suspicious.

One other notable part of the sneak peek below: Harvey Dent is back! Finally, you would think that after naming Nicholas D’Agosto a regular on this show, you would try to figure out more ways to use him than what you have done to date. Maybe there is a further plan that the show has for this character later this season that has not been entirely explained just yet. That’s the only thing that we can hope for.
