‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7, episode 6 preview: Is Sam’s former partner guilty of murder?

NCISMonday night’s new episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” is returning after a one-week hiatus, and in doing so, we’re going to have a chance to really see more of Sam’s own personal backstory … including some further information about someone he used to work with.

The sneak peek below serves many purposes, but the primary one is asking one important question: Did Sam work previously with a dirty partner in Ruiz? This is someone who left NCIS and has been working for ATF on a deep-cover operation, but there are some even within that group that are starting to suspect that he may have turned and is now fighting for the other team. It just so happens that Sam is not one of these people. He knows Ruiz, and feels like there’s no way he would be a traitor.

Obviously, there are a variety of different goals in this episode, but the biggest one may just be a hunt for the truth. Over the course of this episode, we imagine that Sam is going to do all he can to clear this guy’s name. While it is true that many people often do change, he still seems very much convinced that this is a good guy, and someone who should be supported for at least a little while longer.

Let’s hope that Sam is right with his gut instinct here, and that this does not end up becoming one of those cases that devastates him, and shows that maybe he is not that great of a judge of character, after all.
