‘Doctor Who’ season 9, episode 8 preview: ‘The Zygon Inversion’ takes matters to a new level

Doctor Who -Saturday’s new episode of “Doctor Who” brought us many things, whether it be the ghosts of Doctors past and the return of the Zygons, who last played a significant part on the show back during the 50th anniversary special back before Peter Capaldi signed on.

So where we do we go from here during next week’s “The Zygon Inversion”? Let’s start here by saying that we’re excited to see that the invasion is picking up steam, and The Doctor finds himself in a “me against the universe” sort of dilemma. Maybe not everyone out there prefers the show when we have The Doctor as such an underdog, but we think there’s a lot of fun that can come out of trying to see this character escape from what seems to be an almost-impossible situation.

Take a look at the episode’s synopsis right now, in the event you haven’t seen it already:

“Shapeshifting Zygons are everywhere in the UK, and there is no way of knowing who to trust. With UNIT neutralised, only the Doctor stands in their way. But how do you stop a war? And what can the Doctor do to save his friends?”

At the end of this weekend’s episode, one of the big cliffhangers was the presence of Bonnie, Clara’s new clone who could be more than just a simple adversary. This is a pretty interesting concept for the show; we assume that The Doctor will make it out of this alive, but we have to figure out just what it will take from him for this to happen.
