‘The X Factor’ UK rankings: 4th Impact, Louisa Johnson, Che Chesterman top in first edition

X Factor -For the first time this weekend on “The X Factor,” the entire remaining field is competing directly against each other. This is the time we really look forward to! Since there are only seven weeks of live shows this year we imagine plenty of double-eliminations coming, and thanks to that, singers are going to have to work to start bringing it even earlier than they would on some other occasions.

We’re basing these rankings off of performance quality, edit, and perceived fan following. Also, remember that Monica Michael was added to the top 12 during this week as a wildcard!

13. Mason Noise – How do you not put him last going into this show? The reality is that he is probably a top five talent, but everything from his name to his attitude in the Six-Chair Challenge screams “don’t vote for me.” This is not a show where controversial works. Maybe he’ll do well in the industry, but probably not on this show.

12. Reggie & Bollie – A much more likable version of Mason. They have a great personality and are infectious, but musically they’re not the sort of act that does well on this show. We cannot imagine them having a particularly great time staying in the competition.

11. Kiera Weathers – While all of Rita Ora’s Girls are talented, memorability is the struggle with some of them. From our vantage point, Rita is simply the least memorable of the bunch.

10. Bupsi – She is helped a little bit by the fact that she had the super-memorable audition, but we cannot get past the fact that she is extremely campy. Maybe she has Stevi Ritchie upside; she actually can sing rather well, but she comes across as either old-fashioned or over-the-top.

9. Monica Michael – She benefits very much from getting the wildcard spot, and for having a killer voice. What we still don’t have a good read on is how many people are really rooting for her. She seems to alternate between being very vulnerable and having her walls up, and she needs to find a happy medium.

8. Max Stone – Here is what we wonder for Max: Does all of Britain love him as much as it seemed during the last two rounds? While he did have the breakout performance of the Overs in Judges’ Houses, we still don’t know a whole lot about him as an entertainer.

7. Alien Uncovered – We have to get used to calling them this name. The ladies are extremely unique and do a variety of different music. As a longtime viewer of singing shows, we appreciate that. This is going to be all about song choice for them, since they have to continue to do high-energy, eclectic numbers.

6. Lauren Murray – We feel like Lauren has relatability on her side, since she’s different from the other Girls and really from anyone in the competition. Our concern with her is that she will get swallowed up on the stage, but if she is consistent, she has the potential to last a long time.

5. Seann Miley Moore – Seann continues to impress us with his voice. We feel like sometimes people focus more on his story or his style, but the reality he the guy has a huge range and fantastic stage presence. He’s right there with Alien Uncovered as someone whose fate will be determined by song choice.

4. Anton Stephans – We love Anton. We love his voice, his personality, his passion, and his humor. Maybe some out there feel like he is a little much and we’re overrating him, but we just can’t help it. We really want to see him go far in this competition.

3. Che Chesterman – The best pure singer this season, and he is also the sort of performer who tends to do really well on this show year in and year out. He needs to still come out of his shell more, but we are starting to see him do that.

2. Louisa Johnson – Right now, we feel like she is the most-likely person to go from being on this show to being a superstar in the pop world. She’s got the confidence, the voice, and the personality. Will she get Britain on her side? We’re banking on it, even though women often have a harder time than the men.

1. 4th Impact – With their audience in the Philippines plus their vocal power, we have to peg them for now as the frontrunners. This could change throughout the season, but we’ve heard nothing but praise for these four sisters from the moment they first hit the stage.
