‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Law & Order: SVU’ alum in as Hugo Strange

Gotham -Gotham” has just cast yet another infamous DC Comics villain, and this time around, they’ve gone with someone who may be one of the TV actors of the moment.

According to USA Today, B.D. Wong of “Law & Order: SVU” fame has signed up to appear as Hugo Strange, a brilliant professor who is overlooking some of the experiments that are taking place at Indian Hill Laboratory. As you remember, the end of this last episode “By Fire” featured Bridgit Pike being transferred to the research facility in an extremely charred state, which may give you a sense that she is about to become a lab rat.

Could this place eventually develop some sort of superpowers for characters? It may be a little early to say that, since “Gotham” has for the most part stuck with a realistic world. Still, it will be interesting to see what the lab decides to do with Strange at the helm. (For those who don’t remember him from the comics, Hugo also has a significant role in the “Batman” video game series developed by Rocksteady.)

This is the second major casting for Wong in the past year beyond “SVU,” as he is also getting plenty of acclaim for playing the character of White Rose on “Mr. Robot” over on USA.

Meanwhile, Zap2It has also reported that Kristen Hager of “Being Human” fame has been brought on the show as the ailing wife of Victor Fries, a.k.a. the man who will soon become Mr. Freeze. You can head over here right now to read more news on that particular casting and what it means for the show.
