‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Barbara Hershey returning for 100th episode
You knew that “Once Upon a Time” probably wanted to go all out in production of their 100th episode, so the following little bit of news should not surprise you much: Barbara Hershey is officially coming back.
Entertainment Weekly was the first to report that the actress will return as Cora, and that this big return is set to officially happen during the show’s upcoming 100th episode. This is going to air as the spring premiere in March, and as a result of that leaves the possibilities fairly endless as to how she could turn up. In the present timeline, the character is dead … but we also thought the same thing about Lancelot before he suddenly became a big part of what is going on right now in Camelot.
Hershey is just the latest big name who is currently slated to return to the show for at least one other episode; some other big names include Jamie Chung (Mulan), Meghan Ory (Red), and David Anders (Dr. Whale / Dr. Frankenstein). We’d love to see Georgina Haig (Elsa) return at some point in the second half of the season, if for no other reason than that “Frozen” has been almost forgotten by these characters ever since that particularly arc came to a close. (Unfortunately, the dollar signs attached to the “Frozen” franchise probably keeps the show from stretching their creative flexibility much when it comes to these characters.)
There are still many other important episodes of “Once Upon a Time” coming up this fall, so we’re going to continue to provide you more news about them. For example, head over here for some updates on Sunday night’s “The Bear and the Bow.”
