‘Downton Abbey’ season 6, episode 7 video: Mary’s crisis; Thomas’ teachings
Can you believe that there are only three episodes left for “Downton Abbey” until the series is officially said and done? That’s a scary concept. This show was an enormous hit for ITV for so many years, but now the challenge is how in the world you are going to tie together all the loose ends that are currently permeating through the story.
Let’s start here by discussing one of the biggest ones: Whether or not Lady Mary is going to be able to get past some of her issues with Henry Talbot. We feel like the love is there, and the promo below is further proof of that. However, his auto-racing habit is problematic. She has some understandable PTSD about it over what happened to Matthew, and the story is not going to be entirely-rosy between the two characters Sunday night.
Also, is Thomas closer to watching his entire life crumble? He wants to teach Andy to read, and at the moment Andy may be one of the few he has in his corner. Mr. Carson has already made it rather clear that he is becoming expendable at the Abbey, even if the personal tie between the two of them makes it rather hard for him to do away with the character himself. He’d much rather see him find work elsewhere.
If you add to this more story regarding Violet and her current efforts, you’ve got quite the eventful hour of TV coming up that will set the stage for the final episodes.
