Is ‘The Bastard Executioner’ episode 8 new tonight on FX?
For all of those out there who love Kurt Sutter’s “The Bastard Executioner,” you’re going to be waiting for at least another week to see it on the air.
For the first time since the series premiered, there is no new episode airing on Tuesday night. The reasoning for it is rather interesting, since it ties back mostly to FX’s plans to air a marathon of “Twilight” movies in preparation for Halloween. Is that really a great reason for preemption? We don’t think so, but we’re not a network executive. New episodes will resume next week.
One thing that we afraid of with this preemption is that it creates viewer confusion, and then in turn a drop in viewership. The show has already lost more than half of its total viewers (at least in terms of live+same day ratings) from its premiere, and that’s a tradition that we would like to see turned around. Granted, it is still standard for shows to erode during a season as more people turn to DVRs and other measures to watch a show.
While we do not have any new footage of the show to share with you today, you may still enjoy the recently-released video below courtesy of FX. This takes you behind the scenes of the wardrobe, and how some of the costumes were designed to fit the world of the show and also the period. There’s a lot more that goes into the creation of these than you would first expect upon seeing them on-camera.

DITTO, Paula! WTF. And to think it was replaced with a Twilight marathon. Twlight?! Don’t you have to be twelve years old to watch the one of those Twlight movies?
