Is ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 6 new tonight on ABC?
Tonight on ABC, “Castle” is doing something that is fairly unusual: Airing a repeat for really no reason, and doing so at a time when the majority of other networks are airing a new installment. If you watch tonight, you can get a chance to see a repeat of “Once Upon a Time in the West.” It’s a fun episode that will bring you back to the happier times of the Castle / Beckett marriage, but it’s not telling you anything new. Maybe those who watch it will just enjoy it just because it gives you the idea of hope for the two characters.
So when is the show returning? It will be on Monday, November 9 for “Cool Boys,” the episode featuring the return of Alec Baldwin as Ethan Slaughter. Following that, you will get in the month “The Last Seduction” and then “Mr. and Mrs. Castle,” the episode believed to be extremely significant for the relationship between the two characters. (This schedule was reported by TVLine.)
Hopefully, you’re going to have a reason to smile if you are a Castle / Beckett fan by the time you make it to the end of this particular run of episodes. “Mr. and Mrs. Castle,” pending a last-minute change, is going to be the last episode of the show until February. That’s a long wait for new episodes, but by the time we get it back on the air you may get an opportunity to have the rest of the season run in relative succession.
Of course, we plan on having further “Castle” scoop throughout the hiatus, so be on the lookout!

Actually I will not be hanging on for new episodes in February. I will be watching new episodes of blindside that my daughter highly recommends. ABC needs to bury 8×06 and any other episode that delays getting Caskett back together. Then maybe the series can be salvaged with some talented writing and story lines.

Well, the current TVLine spoilers for Castle make it fairly clear that Mr. and Mrs. Castle is in fact “related” to the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I’m not holding my breath for it to be anything that will make the fans happy no matter what Hawley says. After all, he’s claiming that the fans are now happy with the separation story arc.

They are trying to get us “back to where we used to root for Caskett”. I used to root for them back before the “split” both good and great episodes as well as those that were totally inane. Now I cannot even enjoy an otherwise good episode because of annoying thoughts of how could anyone do something so inane and unecessary for a great story line.

Regardless of whatever dream world the show runners are living in,bottom line is that if Caskett are not back together by November break this fantastic series will be cancelled and a lot of fans will probably only remember it in the long run for its last disastrous 8th season instead of previous 7 great seasons . What a shame.

BTW , I hope you are wrong about the Mr and Mrs Smith plot line.

Here’s what I based it on.
Nov. 9, “Cool Boys”: With Beckett away at a work function, Castle is swept up in a caper involving Detective Slaughter (returning guest star Adam Baldwin) – meaning, bro time that affords Rick a chance to vent about his muddled marriage. “What we tried to do was have a bit of the ‘guy’ conversation about what’s happening, but put that perspective on its head,” says co-showrunner Alexi Hawley. And in part due to gruff Slaughter’s unexpected insights, “It ends up being a positive conversation.”
Nov. 16, “The Last Seduction”: All My Children alum Lindsay Price andRescue Me’s Andrea Roth are on hand for a “very fun episode” centered on Rick and Kate’s first wedding anniversary, says co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter. “But how do you celebrate when you’re having this weird ‘time out’…? Well, they find a way.” Also: Ryan and Espo attend therapy!
Nov. 23, “Mr. & Mrs. Castle”: The fall finale, per its title, is a nod toBrangelina’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith — namely, “the fun of the conflict in that relationship in the movie,” says Hawley. On what note will it leave fans heading into a three-month hiatus? “We’re not leaving you with a cliffhanger,” says Hawley, “but the promise of what it will be like when we come back.”

From what you are describing this is the way it will go down before the break. In that case I truly believe they will loose a lot more viewers because most of us are not willing to wait that long for Caskett to be reunited for good . But as they say the proof is in the ratings and the show runners don’t seem to grasp that the number of viewers is what dictates the ratings numbers. If these last 3 episodes proceed the way you described them then there may not even be a second half to this season.
