‘The Good Wife’ season 7, episode 4 review: Alicia and Jason’s back-and-forth and so much more
One of the great things about “The Good Wife” is that the series really does not force Alicia into relationships into anyone. This is why she is a strong character!
Yet, it’s still logical that most of us want to see her end up with Jason Crouse. He is an interesting, complex, and complicated guy, and what we think Alicia may like him is because she cannot pin him down exactly. Their back-and-forth was one of the best moments of Sunday’s episode, which contained a wide array of other storylines and forced Alicia into a tough situation in particular in bond court, where her past audacity came back to bite her in many ways.
The good news? While her relationship with Jason is still somewhat mysterious, her friendship with Lucca is blossoming, and maybe we can see that flourish at some point in the future.
Alicia’s former colleague Diane had her hands full tonight dealing with a story all about euthanasia, which proved to be incredibly difficult after she was goaded into trying to argue for a viewpoint that did not align with her own. Isn’t it nice to see Christine Baranski get some great material once again? Also, we had Eli continuing to meddle as much as possible with Ruth and Peter’s campaign, continuing to do whatever he can to get a little bit of leverage on his side. We’re not sure if it will work, but it is definitely entertaining.
As a whole, we’re not sure that anything in this episode will be memorable in a month or so down the road; we see it more as the show planting a few interesting seeds for what could be coming up. Grade: B-.
