‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Rumpelstiltskin, Belle, Merida, and a bear

Merida -

Sunday night’s “Once Upon a Time” brought us the arrival of Merlin, but at the same time, it also drove a huge wedge between Henry and Emma over the way in which she decided to kick his feelings to the curb in Camelot for the sake of her mission.

Next week, we seem to be shifting focus a little to a pair of characters who spent most of this hour “in training”: Rumpelstiltskin and Merida. She was ordered by Jennifer Morrison’s character to turn him into a hero, and now that this doesn’t seem to have been successful, he instead seems to be in serious danger. “The Bear and the Bow” is the title for Sunday’s upcoming episode, and that title for those curious is a reference to what “Brave” was originally called before the name change.

Apparently, Rumple is going to have to figure out how to stop a pretty enormous bear if he wants to move forward with his life … and if he also wants to ensure Belle’s safety. After all, it certainly looks as though Belle is the target here even more than Rumple is, which is probably a deliberate move to hit him in one of the few places that would truly devastate him.

For those of you who have been looking for more of a spotlight episode featuring these characters, this will be your ticket to that. We’ll hopefully have some other updates all about this at some point over the weeks ahead.
