MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 5, episode 9 preview: Sadie gives Matty some advice

Does anyone else out there like seeing the nice side of Sadie on “Awkward“? It’s not something we tend to see often, but the past couple of weeks have allowed her to showcase some different parts of her personality. We’re coming off of seeing her be extremely brokenhearted over what happened between her and Sergio, and at prom Monday night, she’s going to lend a helping hand of sorts to Matty as he starts to realize just what his feelings are.

Remember how Jenna had that huge reservation that she never stopped being in love with Matty? Well, this seems to be him making the same revelation, which leads to Sadie telling him that he absolutely needs to make his thoughts clear before it’s too late. (Of course, she does add some of her trademark snark in the process.)

By the time we make it to the end of this preview, we feel somewhat compelled to think that this is actually going to happen, with the emphasis being on “somewhat.” We’ve been faked out so many different times on the show over the years, we still have a hard time thinking that the big confession is actually going to happen.

Then again, there’s not exactly much time if these two are going to make their feelings clear by the end of the first part of the season. There’s only one more episode after this one before the show is off the air until most likely the spring … though it’s really all up to MTV as to what they want to do.
