‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Could Dr. Tara Lewis leave the BAU?
One thing that we’ve had to remember almost from the onset of “Criminal Minds” season 11 is that the run by Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis is destined to be a limited one. It’s been great to see her around as a part of the series, but two things in particular must be remembered / considered.
1. Tyler is an extremely busy woman, doing this show alongside her work on “Archer,” “The Talk,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” and other endeavors that are not TV-related.
2. Eventually, AJ Cook would be returning full-time as JJ after going on maternity leave. The Tara character was meant to help fill the void during her absence.
While it’s possible that we end up seeing a lot more of Dr. Lewis down the road, we would not be surprised if the November 4 episode entitled “Pariahville” is her last for a little while. The synopsis below gives you a sense of how her story could be wrapped up, and also the case that the BAU will be assigned to handle:
“When a woman is murdered in a small town in Florida inhabited entirely by sex offenders, the BAU faces a community full of suspects. Also, Lewis receives a career opportunity that may take her away from the BAU.”
Obviously, this is going to be a very challenging case for Hotch and company to handle, and who knows? It could be even more of a distraction for them to be thinking about losing Tara at the same time they have to deal with something like this. Then again, the good news is that these are people who have certainly handled varying degrees of adversity in the past.
