‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: A pair of new castings!

Last Ship -

With “The Last Ship” clearly starting to get going on its upcoming third season, this is the time when some casting news is really starting to come in. For the sake of this article, we are pleased to report on two different people in particular. Before we dive in, credit goes to Deadline for the scoop.

Fernando Chien – The actor, known for a variety of small parts on “Ray Donovan” and “Star Trek: Enterprise,” is going to be playing the part of Peng, and is the leader of what is left of China after the arrival of the plague. This should give you some further evidence that China will in fact play a particularly significant role on the show moving into this season.

Dichen Lachman – Meanwhile, Lachman is going to play the part of a helicopter pilot named Jesse, someone who has chosen to try and live “off the grid.” Lachman is coming off of stints on “Shameless” and Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.”

As said earlier, “The Last Ship” is still in the early stages of season 3, but they have many priorities that they are going to need to resolve. First and foremost, there’s the order of business about resolving what happened to Rachel, and then you’re also going to have a chance to see just how Chandler handles some of his new power within a newly-formed United States government. It should premiere on TNT in the early summer. Stay tuned for more.

If you missed it, yesterday Bridget Regan of “White Collar” and “Jane the Virgin” was added to “The Last Ship,” and you can read more about that over at the link here.
