‘The X Factor’ UK rankings: 4th Impact, BEKLN Mile, Alien Uncovered, and many name changes

The latest news -Here’s the problem with creating a group in today’s modern music industry: Not only do you have to make sure that the talent is there, but you better make sure that you choose a name that is not being used somewhere else. The struggle already for all of these groups on “The X Factor” is that they’ve all been forced to undergo name changes for copyright reasons, which means that it’s almost like getting to meet everyone again. It’s not an end-all, since Little Mix was originally Rhythmix and Fifth Harmony was originally Lylas. You just better hope that your new name is amazing, and we’re not entirely sure that some of these new ones are.

Anyway, we’re here to judge talent for the Judges’ Houses more than names. If you’ve missed it, we’re basing these rankings off of performance quality, edit, and whether or not a given act will be able to generate votes.

6. Reggie n Bollie – Previously known as Menn on Point (a far superior name), these guys have a ton of charisma but not a lot of vocal ability. They’d be very limited in what they could do in live shows, and are probably better just taking this exposure to go off and collaborate with other people.

5. Melody Stone – Former known as Silver Tone. The name’s okay, and the group has a ton of potential. We just need to see them really deliver consistently before we start to put them any higher. This should be a concern of Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini when looking at the category.

4. New King Order – The men formerly known as the First Kings are pretty good for what they are, but what they are is a band we’ve heard before in many other places. They have a shot of advancing if they really bring it, but at the moment we feel firmly confident in the top three groups more than any other.

3. BEKLN Mile – We’re mostly shocked that someone had actually copyrighted BEKLN before these guys did. Crazy. They’re the best group of male singers left, and we’ve yet to hear them blow a performance. This sort of remarkable consistency has to be commended, right?

2. Alien Uncovered – We feel like Alien should’ve went with something even stranger for the second word in their name, mostly to further accent how different and out-there they truly are. They remain a personal favorite mostly because of it; we genuinely have no idea what they are going to do at any given moment.

1. 4th Impact – We really don’t love “Impact” versus “Power,” but these four young women from the Philippines definitely make a huge impact. They’re all great singers and strong choreographers, and if Cheryl brings them to the lives we have a feeling that they have a reasonable shot to get all the way to the finale.
