‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: ‘White Collar,’ ‘Jane the Virgin’ alum aboard as series regular

Last Ship -

While we cannot tell you the fate of Rachel on “The Last Ship” for the time being, we can at least pass along one of the latest major changes to the season 3 cast.

According to a report from Deadline, Bridget Regan (“Jane the Virgin,” “White Collar”) has been booked to play the latest series regular among the cast. Specifically, her part is Sasha, a former Navy Intelligence Officer who is now working undercover for the new United States government in China. Does this mean that we are heading overseas for the upcoming season? It is at least possible, since the show has the potential to really travel anywhere they may choose to. One of the other things is that the cast spends so much time at sea that it is easy to spend the money to recreate whatever location it may need to when the time comes. They’ve never spent too long in any one place.

The third season will continue filming over the months ahead, and will air on TNT next summer. While its ratings did decline in the second season, the show (executive produced by Michael Bay) remains a very different flavor in primetime, and something that is easy to get behind for those of you who like to combine a military drama with a post-apocalyptic thriller. There is really not a whole lot else on TV quite like it.

We’ll have some other news soon on the show as it comes out, so be on the lookout!
