‘The X Factor’ UK: Could Louis Tomlinson of One Direction really be a judge next season?

The latest news -

Everyone associated with “The X Factor” knows that One Direction is the biggest act to ever come out of the series. Meanwhile, those who have studied it closely over the years also know that Louis Tomlinson has not put much distance between himself and the franchise. He has a good relationship with Simon Cowell, has worked with some contestants behind the scenes over the years, and is even appearing with him at Judges’ Houses for the next new episode of the show airing this weekend.

Could all of this lead to him becoming an eventual judge on the show next season? Based on some comments that are coming out courtesy of The Sun, it is certainly possible:

“I’ve handed my CV to Simon for next year’s show, so we will see how it goes. It’s definitely something I am thinking about … I am the biggest X Factor fan and I would love to be there week in, week out and really give that level of passion. I think I would be a decent judge.”

We agree with Louis, and we also think that he would bring at least a small spark to the show’s declining ratings. Yet, would he really be available? The thing we always wonder here is that One Direction consistently remains one of the busiest acts in the business in between touring, album recordings, and publicity comments, and doing this show requires you to spend a certain amount of time every year in the same place. It could be a scheduling nightmare unless One Direction is planning to take some time off in 2016.

We’re going to spending some time over the next few days profiling more of the contestants on “The X Factor,” so head over here to check that out soon! Also, you can sign up here to get some further TV news and exclusive updates on all we cover, courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ITV.)
