‘Bones’ season 11 spoilers: Show boss on relationship between Brennan, Ichabod Crane

Who would’ve thought that Brennan and Ichabod Crane would have some common ground on the “Bones” – “Sleepy Hollow” crossover airing at the end of the month? While they may clash at times (they are, after all, extremely smart and strong-willed), they also share some common bonds.

Part of the fun of the crossover event is going to be the surprise that comes with seeing these people interact, and based on what executive producer Michael Peterson tells TV Guide, one of the biggest surprises will be seeing how Brennan really could not care less what century Ichabod is from:

“Brennan is one of the few people who can look at Ichabod Crane as the guy who’s wearing this 18th-century outfit, and she just doesn’t even mind that … That, to her, is completely off her radar. He really is an 18th-century squint, and she loves that. He’s a man who’s out of time, but he was a scholar, and they get along very, very well as a result of that.”

This crossover is going to contain many twists and turns and span two separate shows, but will it actually boost the ratings? We’re not so sure about that. These two shows do need some sort of an added boost commercially, and we admire that they are at least giving this a try. We understand that some may feel like combining these two shows is them jumping the shark, but let’s look at this way: Given that neither show is performing well on its own, shouldn’t you try something to turn things around? Anything that gets the two shows further publicity is ultimately something we can get behind and support in the end.
