Donald Trump not worried about ‘Saturday Night Live’ backlash

SNL -You really had to know this was coming from the very first moment that “Saturday Night Live” announced that Donald Trump would be hosting the upcoming November 7 episode that there was going to be backlash. After all, how would there not be backlash? This is a man with a history of conflict with NBCUniversal already, not to mention many Latino groups who were outraged at some of his past comments. Was it really all that long ago when the Miss USA saga was taking center stage for NBC?

Well, it shouldn’t be shock that there are already many different groups that have reached out to NBC hoping that they will pull Trump as host of the show. Specifically, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda published a letter (per Politico) that made it very clear what they want the network to do:

“Donald Trump has yet to apologize for his bigoted comments about Mexican immigrants. Allowing Trump to host SNL will legitimize and validate his anti-Latino comments. NHLA had praised NBCUniversal, when it severed its ties with Donald Trump. We are appalled that you would enable Trump’s hateful speech for nothing less than a ratings ploy and ask that you rescind the SNL invitation.”

Trump seems not altogether concerned by most of this, saying on “Fox & Friends” that he trusts his relationship with the Hispanic community and feels like he winning in many polls with the groups.

We’re not so much here to talk about politics; we’re more about “SNL” and what the future holds there. Ultimately, we feel pretty much like Trump isn’t going anywhere. NBC had to know the moment that they hired him that this was going to happen.
