‘Saturday Night Live’: Bernie Sanders approves of Larry David impersonation

SNL -There were so many reasons to smile during this past episode of “Saturday Night Live” from start to finish, but one of the best parts was in the cold open when “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Larry David came in with a pitch-perfect rendition of Bernie Sanders. It was probably one of the funniest things that we’ve seen on the show since the anniversary special; even though he was probably just being Larry as much as he was doing much of an impression of anyone.

So what did Bernie think of the impersonation? Sometimes, politicians and celebrities tend to get their feelings hurt over being spoofed on the show, but this is certainly not the case here. Speaking in an interview earlier today on ABC, Sanders joked that the campaign will “use Larry at our next rally. He does me better than I do.”

Is it possible that we are going to see Larry return as the politician again during campaign season? Some of it may depend on just how much of an impact Sanders makes, including whether or not he is eventually selected as the Vice-Presidential nominee. We feel like eventually, the show would probably need to use one of their existing cast members for Bernie if the situation called for it; however, at the same time we’re not sure it will be needed.

“SNL” is off the air until November 7, when fittingly we are going to get an appearance from an actual Presidential candidate in Donald Trump.
