‘Saturday Night Live’ ratings: Tracy Morgan – Demi Lovato show a slight improvement

SNL -We have to admit that going into this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” episode, we expected to see some pretty strong ratings, maybe even the best since the 40th Anniversary Special.

With that being said, it’s a little bit surprising that the episode hosted by Tracy Morgan finished where it did in the ratings. Maybe part of the blame for that goes to college football, which caused the show to start and end a little later than usual. At the moment, “SNL” has drawn a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is the best rating of the season. However, we still thought we were going to see this episode get a little bit closer to a 2.5 or something in that arena. Does this mean that they over-estimated the interest in Morgan coming back after his terrible accident? Maybe, but some of that may also been hindered thanks to him already making a public appearance at the Emmys.

One thing that we’re much more comfortable in saying at the moment is that the next edition of the show on NBC is probably going to bring in some truly monster ratings. Just remember here that Donald Trump is hosting on November 7, and he has been ratings dynamite everywhere that he has been so far. There’s no reason to think that anything is going to be different on “Saturday Night Live”.

We’ll of course have some more coverage on this “SNL” episode soon enough and that includes the hosting lineup for the month of November, so be sure to check back for more on that.
