‘Switched at Birth’ season 4, episode 19 preview: Toby and Lily prepare for a baby shower

There is a baby shower coming on Monday night’s “Switched at Birth,” and based on the sneak peek below, this could be a really fun time … with the emphasis on could.

It’s clear to us that both Toby and Lily are aware that there could be problems, and that should help them navigate whatever is ahead. For example, Lily has not told everyone about her plans for London, just as Toby has not had the conversation with Bay. There will be better opportunities to have these conversations … at least provided that someone doesn’t try to come in and completely sabotage things now. In this world, this has to be a possibility.

For now, though, Toby’s advice to Lily is just that they prepare to enjoy the shower, and of course celebrate all of the gifts that they end up receiving in the process. This is their chance to prepare for the rest of their lives in the best way that they can, and they should be focusing more on this than trying to create any sort of particular impression.

We’ll be back with another preview for this “Switched at Birth” episode on Sunday, but for now we’re feeling like despite the best efforts of everyone to create a good impression here, the odds are still particularly high that we could see something go terribly wrong. Whatever happens in this installment is going to specifically carry over to the finale, and possibly a season 5.
