‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: When will the show’s Firefly appear?
One of the big stories related to “Gotham” to surface over the summer was the talk about Bridgit Pike, a gender-flipped version of the DC Comics villain otherwise known as Firefly. This is a character who is extremely dangerous, and as the name would suggest, she has a tendency to enjoy explosives and other dangerous things that she can use in order to make the world burn.
So when is she going to be seen on the Fox show? Think along the lines of the episode “By Fire” airing a week from Monday. This is one that will feature her alongside many of the other villains, and it is a little bit interesting that the synopsis below in particular (via TV Guide) does not even mention the likes of Jim Gordon or any of the other good guys. It gives the whole “Rise of the Villains” subtitle a whole new meaning.
“Bridgit Pike takes charge of her future after rejoining her brothers; Kringle and Nygma’s relationship evolves; and Penguin and Galavan continue to fight for control of the underworld.”
What we are the most interested in with this story at the moment is getting to see a new, different female villain enter the world of the show. Barbara Kean and Selina Kyle are the only two who have surfaced in a big way so far, and Selina has yet to really enter full-on villain mode. Barbara has become almost a Harley Quinn sort of figure on the show, but is she going to be anywhere near as interesting without Jerome around? Time will tell.
