‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 2 preview: Chandler Riggs, Seth Gilliam featured in new video

Carl -If there was one frustration that many people had with “The Walking Dead” season 5, it was one man more than anyone else: Father Gabriel. The priest had a seriously creepy side, but at the same exact time was not exactly capable of handling himself in the zombie apocalypse. Instead, he spent the majority of his time flopping around and getting himself nearly killed.

We do think that there is still something interesting with this character that could be explored, and it is the subject of the new sneak peek from Sunday night’s new episode. In this preview, Seth Gilliam’s character seems to tell Carl (Chandler Riggs) that while he was not altogether interested in learning from him at first, he’s now ready. He’s opened up his mind to it, and he realizes that he needs to know how to take care of himself in this world.

In the end, Carl agrees to seemingly help him, and will start off by helping him train with a machete. There’s something interesting that could come out of a “Rocky”-esque training segment regarding these two characters, where we get a chance to see Carl adopt a new role in Alexandria. He’s always been one, to quote Liam Neeson, with a “particular set of skills.” This is a way that he can use some of them to help others without causing too much chaos.

We’ll have some other news on “The Walking Dead,” including a review of this big episode, coming up a little bit later this weekend. Stay tuned!
