‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Can Max Stone prove he’s fun?
We’ll say this, though: After watching him perform a Bob Marley hit in the video below, is it really possible that Simon would not put him through into one of his chairs? There’s just no arguing against the skill here, but he still has a major problem: He seems to be way too serious! It’s hard to imagine someone like him selling records, since he doesn’t have any of that pop or charisma that you would really want someone like him to have.
What does make the Overs this year so interesting is that we’re not sure that there are too many people from the category we’d consider a favorite. Maybe Jennifer Phillips and Anton Stephans have received a lot of airtime, but we don’t quite consider that a guarantee that they make it through. The same goes for Bupsi, whose story so far has been mostly devoted to what she did to Simon in the auditions.
As we reported earlier, there is no show on Saturday thanks to ITV airing some rugby coverage. However, we are going to be coming back tomorrow with a review of that episode, and then throughout the week we will have some more specific previews of the contestants competing in the Judges’ Houses phase of things.
