“The Amazing Race” had itself a fairly epic episode on Friday night, at least when it comes to raising the stakes and bringing quite a bit of drama to the table. Even though this was a non-elimination leg, we still had all of the insanity of the Double U-Turn. What’s also great about this, at least for now, is that all of the teams seem to have their U-Turns available. This could change by the time we get to the bottom of the pack, but we’ll have to see on that.
Presumably, the remaining teams are all going to be staying in Africa for another leg, but taking on a variety of other challenges. We did not really get too much of a sense, unfortunately, as to what is going to be next in the preview for the next episode. Why? For the most part, we’d say that it was rather vague and only gave us some assorted little clips of people doing tasks. There was nothing there when it comes to drama.
As a whole, though, we feel 100% confident in saying right now that this may be among our favorite seasons in a little while. It’s at least up there with season 25. While we do have problems with the budget and with too many silly costumes, you’ve got conflict like we haven’t seen at this point in a long time.
Stay tuned, as we’ll have further updates along the way over the upcoming months!
