‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: What’s the relationship ahead between Caitlin and Jay Garrick?
Is there love in the air on “The Flash” season 2? It is probably too early to use the word “love,” but it is possible that in some way, Caitlin Snow could have a shoulder to cry on over the loss of Ronnie Raymond … and someone who could potentially turn into more.
While it may not seem like it at first, many months have passed since the death of Ronnie on the show and where Caitlin is in the present. Therefore, it’s really not so surprising at all that we’re going to see her look for companionship from Jay Garrick. As for Jay himself, it makes even more sense when you take a minute and really look at his own history. This is one of the first chances that he’s really had to focus on something other than being a Speedster; while he was a hero back on Earth-2 and the original Flash, he was in many ways a loner and was afraid to bring anyone close to him out of fear of them being hurt.
In previewing more of what this story could contain to Entertainment Weekly, the man behind Jay in Teddy Sears had the following message to pass along:
“Jay finds himself wonderfully ingratiated into the group at S.T.A.R. Labs … He becomes an extra spoke in the wheel for their doing battle with the metahuman-of-the-week. Jay’s background as a scientist allows him to accomplish things in a way that perhaps the team wasn’t able to do before. That said, Caitlin Snow is also a scientist and the two of them find themselves teaming up on whatever needs to be done to help defeat the villains, and they also begin to share a closeness that neither one of them could’ve anticipated.”
By the time we do make it to the end of this season, let’s hope that both of these characters figure out their feelings … and if these said feelings happen to be for each other.
