ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 5 video: One more Stana Katic – Nathan Fillion scene from ‘The Nose’
Is there a reason for Castle to have hope that Beckett will come back to him soon? In the latest video sneak peek (first posted by TVLine) from Monday night’s new “Castle” episode “The Nose,” you can see our leading man and lady spending at least a little bit of time together … but it does not go well at all.
Specifically, what unfolds that will drive many fans up the nearest wall is hearing Stana Katic’s character say that she needs to go back to the loft in order to pick up the rest of her stuff. Castle was so excited at first to hear that she was going to come back, but then everything changed when he started to understand why. She’s basically taking this breakup even more seriously than she was before.
Is there a nice little moment at the end featuring a special guest star, designed to make Castle believe that his wife is still into him? Sure, but at this point we’re still a little bit perplexed as to why the writers continue to go in this direction. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt at first, but it logically doesn’t make that much sense for her to put distance between the two of them just to “protect” him. After all, anyone who is smart enough to go after her is going to still know that she loves him, and she can’t go back and undo all of that. She’s better in some ways to have an eye on him to make sure that he’s safe.
Anyhow, that is just our two cents on the subject. We’ll see Monday night if the events of this episode change anything at all.

If Stana did not want to be with Nathan any more why did they come back. I just cry because there is no better show then Castle on TV. I cry but am still watching on TNT Monday through Thursday, they are the best. This is really a shame.

Spring I’m not sure that is correct,but I may be wrong we will never know until somewhere in the future. But you definitely are correct in what a shame and why would they come back and ruin the show .

Spring it also possible that they are trying out how the series will go without Stana .I think see has an out in her contract which I applaud her for since the writers really screwed the pooch on this season

The whole bit of the person smelling Beckett’s pheromones encouraging Castle is idiotic anyway. Pheromones have little to nothing to do with feelings and everything to do with physical, visceral reactions. Pheromones are about sexual attraction, not love, not a willingness to stay married to someone.

Jim,I agree, but I think the whole goal of this story line is actually reset the characters back to season 1 where they are not together anymore. I think the writers lie through their teeth and this was the whole goal of season 8 .what a bad choice just hope all fans realize this and stop watching as I have.

The problem is that you just can’t do that. It doesn’t work. Two people just meeting and working through things as they get to know one another and Kate working through her problems because of a mistaken belief that she must be whole before being with Castle is one thing. It’s an entirely different thing once she has walked out on their marriage with no valid reason from Rick’s viewpoint. His reaction to that event is completely unrealistic. She walks out with absolutely no warning and no attempt to work “things” out then Rick has not one tiny bit of anger or resentment but instantly thinks it’s his fault and that he has to “win her back”. I call BS on that writing. It’s also something entirely different when they were together at work constantly versus her trying to push him away and him being a P.I.

Yes,Jim but don’t forget they said in an interview in August 2015 that Beckett would be Captain and less time working together,but know breakup liars. I’ve lost total respect for the show cast and writers.

after 7 years of riding on the castle ship our show runners have burnt it leaving us no way home. This season has been nothing but mis leads and lies. The show as already lost more than 2 million viewers from the same time a year ago. And they just do not care, not the disney I grew up with. They have turned the show into a soap opera and a Charlie Brown and the football cartoon. They just had to screw with the one thing they needed the leave alone, The relationship the love affair and there marriage. They have both faced getting kill in many in so many earlier episodes and they worked it out. For all of us that are married, go back to your first year of marriage and your spouse just walks away without telling you why. I can not find a reason why, except for some twisted story from the show runners. They also told us they are going at sprint speed to get these two back together. There definition of sprint and webster’s do not match.But they some how managed to give them self off 2 out of the next 6 weeks. Then at the end of November give them selfs off until Feb 2016. It is hard to watch a show you really like get destroy.I’m telling everyone who still cares about this show to write to The President of ABC,Mr Paul Lee,500 South Buena Vista Street,Burbank CA 91521-4581 may be he still cares.I think tonight we get Beckett replacement in TOKS. We have another charlie brown football episode coming up Mr & Mrs Castle episode 7.

There was the episode where Castle told Beckett that he loved her and wanted her to stop pursuing the bad guys. Beckett’s response: “Let them come!” Beckett gets involved, sometimes rather irrationally, in the pursuit of justice and is ready and willing to throw her life away. She has shown that predisposition on many occasions. The fact that she has that inclination makes it, for me, reasonable that she would throw caution to the wind and go off on another “hunt for justice”. And, I don’t believe it is a given that if the CIA mole kills Beckett that he or she will kill Castle. Bracken recognized it was Beckett’s inclination to go off on “justice pursuits”.
At any rate, for me, it is likely the last season for the show, I don’t believe the writer’s tack in unreasonable, and I am enjoying each episode. It is unusual to find a pair of actors that have the chemistry of Fillion and Katic.

When that payday the show runners promise finally arrives, will I look back at all the prior weeks and think “now I get it.” No, I’ll look back and think “what a waste of time.” Of course, by payday, i mean the last 5 minutes of an episode.

Buddy I definitely agree ,I don’t see the show making it past the 8th episode .But you never know I wish ABC would put the show and save the show for the fans. Because what I see if it makes it past episode 8 there will be no resolution this season and then show gets cancelled and writers will ruin another show for the fans extremely pissed.

MrsRogers I so agree ,but the writers don’t care I have asked questions of the writers and ABC with no results so I guess some fans will just have to deal with it. I stopped watching ,I think that is the only way to get the writers to change their story line.

Denyse,quite few people have also. But that doesn’t seem to matter to writers,ABC or cast .They are determined to go with this unrealistic story line why I don’t know. Hopefully either something brings them back together at the fall break,or I think the show is over.

I think these writers are pushing the boundaries a little too much! If this doesn’t turn out better and more to the fans liking, they may as well hang it up. I expected more of the writers than this. It makes her look like an ingrate. After all, he was always there for her and helped her to solve her mother’s murder, among other things. She seems to be a real bitch and a third marriage that went wrong. He doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. It is a really bad example to set for viewers and fans of this show!

This started fitting the definition of the word “inane” – no sense, no substance, no idea and I find myself using it more and more with each episode. I have made a pledge to watch no matter what through 8×08 but it is going to be very difficult. I recently read that Stana was leaving Castle for good and in the very next paragraph they said that the show runners said that the split was temporary and that there would be no divorce – inane!!!!

The major reason people watch the show is to here witty dialogue between Fillion and Katic working in the same breathing space. I know it’s cheaper to get writers who can only write flat dialogue and slapstick comedy, but that isn’t the dialogue and comedy people tune in to see. And, if Beckett is pushing Castle away how are the actors to do that one thing that will drive up the ratings? These show runners don’t know their audience because when they finally do leave it will because they are so annoyed, disappointed and angry to ever return.
Boards are now seriously talking about boycotting the show. Never seen that before.

Matt , most fans are more than perplexed they are pissed. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD WRITE A SCATHING REVIEW so the writers can see what they are doing but it appears no major scource wants to do that or cares ? I am not watching anymore as i imagine quite a few other fans are by seeing the veiwing numbers being the loset in the history of the show. I am not sure if Stana wants off the show or what ever, because the actors /cast don’t seem to care about the show anymore no endorseing of the writers from anyone . You don’t see Susan, Stana, Nathan, Molly or even Tamal and the guys aren’t even tweeting about the latest episodes it has become a complete and utterly a pile of s!@#$%t of what it used to be.I will continue to read your column to see if anything has changed ,but I doubt that it will to bad.
