The past few days have certainly been unusual on “The X Factor” UK, and that is really saying something given that the show has not even aired an episode since Sunday. It’s really been all about Mason Noise, the controversial contestant who was booted off the stage by Simon Cowell over making some of his thoughts on his edit (and lack of screen time) relatively clear.
While we do understand the plight of someone who works hard and hopes to have their moment in the sun, there was certainly something off about his methods. The best thing that he could do was something so memorable that the producers would be stupid for not showing it. Part of the issue with his first audition was that he created a little moment with Rita Ora that was easy to show during a montage.
We know that some of Mason’s antics lost him many fans around the UK, and it also seems like even some celebrities / past contestants are not too thrilled. Take, for example, a comment that One Direction member Liam Payne reportedly made to ITV on the subject:
“What is stupid about that is that he has ruined the opportunity for himself. He would have definitely had a chair and then he could have impressed.”
This comment was seemingly made before Mason was brought back as a member of Nick Grimshaw’s team, which came in turn after Tom Bleasby decided to drop out. He still has a far climb to get to the live shows, and one of his big issues there could just be whether or not the British public wants to support him.
