‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 spoilers: Should we expect an even deadlier villain?
Through the first five seasons of “Pretty Little Liars” plus the first half of season 6, we clearly learned that “A” / Charlotte / Mona / every other villain meant business. They sabotaged and tormented the Liars, and eventually did leave somewhat of a body count.
However, with many of these villains, you can point to some specific reason why. Maybe in some cases it was anger over a troubled past, or revenge over something that happened to them. You could often pin down what they were doing to a larger purpose. Is that going to be the same when we leap forward five years in season 6B (premiering January 12), and introduce a new villain? While we cannot speak much just yet about motive, executive producer Marlene King does tell HollywoodLife that this person is someone who may be far more interested in messing with these characters:
“The new big bad — I wont say if it’s a he or a she. We think it’s a he right now, but you never know … But the new big bad is more lethal. The new big bad isn’t playing a game. The new big bad has an agenda and will not stop at anything before that agenda is taken care of.”
Whatever this Big Bad is out to do, it’s apparently enough to reunite Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily back in Rosewood with Alison DiLaurentis for at least a season and a half. We cannot imagine the show shifting its setting much, and ABC Family (or Freeform, as they are soon to be called) already renewed the series for another batch of episodes.
