‘Elementary’ season 4 spoilers: John Noble on playing Morland Holmes

ElementaryYes, it is true that the wait for new episodes of “Elementary” has been rather long and somewhat arduous, but the good news is that this said wait is going to bring you great things, with one of them being John Noble. The former “Fringe” star has a primary spot in the cast this season as Sherlock’s father Morland Holmes, and he is someone who is manipulative, mysterious, and in many ways hard for any character other than Holmes to understand. Sherlock has an interpretation of who he believes Morland to be, but is he to be believed?

John Noble was present to discuss many things at new York Comic-Con this weekend, and he presented per Entertainment Weekly a rather enigmatic tease to a rather enigmatic character:

“He moves in different worlds. He moves above government … He’s this very strange fellow that can get anything he wants and doesn’t abuse the privilege. He does save the day for Sherlock — and Sherlock can’t wait for him to leave!”

Unfortunately for Sherlock, we know that this is not happening. While we cannot say for sure if we’ll see Noble in subsequent seasons if there are more beyond this one, Noble is billed as a series regular. Maybe he will not be a part of every episode, but he is going to remain a significant part of the story. We were early on somewhat afraid to actually meet Morland in the early going thanks to just how effective he was as a mysterious presence, but Noble is the perfect actor to pull this off.
