Through two episodes, “American Horror Story: Hotel” has shown us a tendency to be weird, wonderful, shocking, and also long … really long. Seriously, having more than an hour and a half two weeks in a row is a lot to digest, and no one knows for certain just how long next week’s “Mommy” is going to be. While it is listed right now as being only an hour, the same exact thing could be said about this week’s episode when we first wrote about it a week ago.
Rather than focusing on questions we cannot answer just yet, let’s go ahead and share the short synopsis courtesy of FX:
“Alex hits a breaking point when Scarlett brings up memories of Holden and Donovan becomes a target of the Countess’s rival.”
Obviously Matt Bomer’s character is going to have some jealousy issues thanks to the presence of Tristan (Finn Wittrock). This love triangle is complicated, and if you throw Angela Bassett in there, it is even more so.
The only wish that we have right now is that things start to become a little more focused next week. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing backstory and getting to know people, so isn’t it time to see a little more action? We definitely know now that the Hotel Cortez is a terrible place, but now is the time to start to know where the larger story is going. Is John Lowe’s investigation the main plot? We’d like to see more clarification on that subject.
