‘The X Factor’ UK: Tom Bleasby quits show, could leave room for Mason Noise, someone else

Well, “The X Factor” has found yet another unique way to stay in the headlines, this time due to a contestant changing things up prior to making it to the judges’ houses stage of the competition.

Following his performance in the Six Chair Challenge, Tom Bleasby, who actually was eliminated and brought back by judge Nick Grimshaw, has decided that he will withdraw from the competition. Here is what he said in a statement per the show:

“Due to personal reasons I have decided to withdraw from The X Factor. Thank you to all the judges, especially Nick for his belief in me.”

Now, here is where things get interesting. Grimshaw’s team was already a little messy thanks to a variety of the men giving disappointing performances, and there are really not too many options for a great replacement. If you’re looking at pure talent alone, it’s clear that Mason Noise is the best. The problem is that he clearly is not a fan of every part of the process, and wants the show to work for him more than he works for the show. Did he have a right to be upset over airtime? Sure, but Simon Cowell runs this show and he’s always going to stand up for his team over any contestant.

We suppose that another option is to just bring five singers to Judges’ Houses, but bringing back Mason would be the right move from a drama point of view.

In the end, would it really matter? We’re not so sure. Unless there are wild cards this season, to us it feels like Josh Daniel, Seann Miley Moore, and Simon Lynch are the three clear frontrunners to make it to the next phase. We’re not sure if anyone else will supplant them.
